Sarah Jonston to Carleton. New York. Petition. For restoration of her child whom she let out to a Mrs Lemar. The magistrates opinion is that the mother, having left the child three years should pay for its maintenance during that time, if she wishes to withdraw it. With report of the police, 2 April 1783. Signed by D. Mathews, Mayor and William Walton, Magistrate of Police.
