Full Description:
Reverend Samuel Peters to Carleton. No 1, Charlotte Street, Pimlico, Westminster. Has an eight year old son, William Birdseye Peters, at Stratford, Connecticut. Encloses a letter to his son's grandfather to whom he has never been able to send a letter. Has begged the child may be sent to New York with his nurse or alone, to get a passage to England. Would not have troubled Carleton were it not for the importance of having his son far out of the reach of the independent States of America. Asks for protection for the letter and his son. Endorsed as received 1 June 1783.
