Full Description:
Carleton to General Haldimand. New York. Has received letters from Governor Hancock and Major-General Howe recommending to his protection and aid Mr J. Livingston and Mr John Todd (agent for a Mr Wheelwright), who are trying to recover a large property of which they have been defrauded by a Mr Campbell and a Mr Huntington who have absconded. It is understood that the fugitives have gone into Canada where one was previously living. Recommends Livingston and Todd to him.
