Full Description:
[Carleton] to Governor Parr. New York. Has been approached by Major Milledge of the 1st New Jersey Volunteers to recommend him to Parr for an appointment as Deputy Surveyor in Nova Scotia such as he formerly held for the Eastern Division of New Jersey. He is a gentleman of general merit, good character, an object of much regard on account of his loyalty and sufferings and has a wife and five children.
