Full Description:
Benjamin Thompson, Lieutenant-Colonel King's American Dragoons, to Carleton. New York. Thanks for marks of goodness particularly for command of a body of light troops which were to be raised for service in the West Indies had not peace taken place. If that plan is set aside requests the regiment be dismounted immediately; their cavalry equipment packed up and put in army stores; the regiment sent to Nova Scotia; that on arrival the men with families and others wanting to settle are given leave to do so and to be discharged if they require; he be given leave to go to England to solicit on his behalf and the regiment for employment in the East Indies or elsewhere. Makes further requests regarding the regiment's horses and the sale thereof.
