Full Description:
Carleton to Governor [William] Paca. New York. Had intended to inform him that prosecutions have been ordered and means taken to prevent the continuation of hostilities in the Chesapeake, but the enclosed proclamation, which is to be published on Tuesday ('the 8th instant'), will be more effective in ending such depredations, never, he trusts to be renewed between the English subjects and American citizens.
