Full Description:
Morgann to John Tabor Kempe. New York. Carleton understands that directions have been given to Kempe by Lieutenant-General Robertson to prosecute the persons concerned in plundering the house of Caleb Jones in Jersey last December and ill-treating him and his family. For Carleton's information asks for the state of the prosecution. If there have been no proceedings and if it is a prosecution Kempe declines, he is to explain himself so that other means may be taken as Carleton thinks just and effectual.
