Full Description:
Carleton to Sir George Yonge. New York. Two letters. First letter: Has received by the 'Halifax' packet ten of his letters dated from 2 October 1782 to 1 January 1783 and by the 'Prince William Henry' packet four letters dated Janaury and February 1783. Sends a triplicate of the list of promotions of 20 December [1782]. Has transmitted for the king's commands thereon the papers relating to the claim by Lieutenant-General Robertson for payment for clothing taken by the Enemy at Pensacola. Encloses a state of the clothing and accoutrements of the British regiments under his command. Will send such arrangements as may be necessary regarding those Provincial regiments as the King has thought proper to place on the British Establishment. Recommends the New York Volunteers to the King's attention and ensloses a copyof their memorial, a copy of which is being sent to the Secretary of State. Encloses a copy of Charles Morris's memorial as a consequence of which he has given him a commission as Deputy Purveyor of His Majesty's hospitals. Second letter: Encloses a list of army promotions since his last to the present date together with a list of leaves of absence granted within the same period.
