Full Description:
Major-General James Paterson to Carleton. Halifax. Is exceedingly mortified that his allowance of forage to field officers, in response to their memorial, has met with disapproval. Flatters himself that the saving in public expenditure, the good order and discipline of the army will show that his best endeavours have not been wanting in the discharge of his duty. Is obliged by his present state of health to request permission to return to Europe.
