Full Description:
Henry Van Schaacke to Carleton. New York. Water Street No 193. Encloses copy of his memorial with a duplicate of General of General Robertson's certificate. Requests Carleton to enable him to discharge some small debts he has had to incur for necessities and the expense of getting to his destination about two hundred miles away. Expresses regret that necessity compels him to give allegiance to a government established on the ruins of the one so near his heart.
