Full Description:
Andrew Elliot to Maurice Morgann. Superintendent's Office, New York. Encloses a copy of a letter he leaves in the Superintendent's Office for the information of the merchants. Asks if it can be laid before Carleton. Thinks this way better than public notice in the newspapers, which might cause conjectures to be made founded on ignorance, suspicion and jealousy but defers to Carleton's opinion.
