Full Description:
Major William Anstruther to Carleton. Bermuda. Received previous letter and has only to say that if any mistake has happened respecting the Paymaster having drawn improperly on Mr Morgann, it proceeded from some misconception of the advice by Lieutenant Slack. The accounts were all made up to order after Slack had mustered. That a clear settlement might take place sent Lieutenant Hunt to New York on the '13th instant', and having sent Lieutenant Charles Blundell with Slack to settle the barrack accounts with Brook Watson, made no doubt of everything being right. His Excellency's letter informs him of Blundell being superseded but he knew of no such order last May. He hopes that the cause of the present errors will be put to rights.
