Full Description:
Cavalier Jouett to [ ? ]. New York. On being advised by his friends to communicate to His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief, relates to the ill-treatment he has received since the cessation of hostilities. After being released as a prisoner of war on his parole given to General Washington, he decided to try and settle with his family in the neighbourhood of Woodbridge [New Jersey] but has received much hostilitly from all sections of the society, even to the point of threats of being hung.
