Full Description:
Major-General James Paterson to Carleton. Halifax, Nova Scotia. Number 12. Received previous letter with enclosures. The clothing, camp equippage etc., for the foreign troops in Canada are preparing to be embarked with the men in charge. Cornet Schoenewald will proceed by this conveyance and has enclosed the Adjutant-General's letter to Captain Studholme, the officer at Fort Howe. Will await further orders before the troops are withdrawn from that post and will assist the Provincial Officers who may come to Nova Scotia. Refers His Excellency to dispatches, and that Captain Spry and Mr Crawford's accounts have not yet been reported on. Will not decide about Captain Callbeck's claim until receiving direction from His Excellency.
