Full Description:
Governor Patrick Tonyn, St Augustine to Carleton. Acknowledges receipt of two letters and agrees to his suggestion for giving gratuities to Loyalists who have taken refuge in the province. Regrets that the surrender of St Augustine to the Spanish prevents him affording a settlement for those brave men. He will try to keep the refugees with him until the crop is gathered so that there might be food for them during their emigration.
