Full Description:
William Courlies (or Corlius) to Carleton. New York. Memorial. For the recovery of a grey stallion known by the name of 'Merryman' and valued at £150 proclamation money, which was taken by a party of [Loyalist] New Jersey Volunteers from the memorialist, then a Loyalist of Shrewsbury in New Jersey but now a refugee in New York. Gives details about how the horse was forcibly taken from him and subsequently sold. An affirmation stating the facts was taken before William Waddell Esquire.
