Full Description:
Private Alexander McDougall, 71st Regiment to Carleton. New York. Two documents: (1) Memorial that Lieutenant Chapman of the British Legion borrowed money on sundry times from the memorialist and did upon 21 April 1782 give him a bill of exchange for the amount being £25 14s 6d sterling upon Captain Miller, then Paymaster of the legion. Lieutenant Hovenden, the present Paymaster declines to pay and so he is making an application to Carleton. (2) That the Board have taken the memorial of Alexander McDougall into consideration and are of the opinion that the money is justly due.
