Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Lieutenant Alexander Gray, Paymaster to His Majesty's 40th or 2nd Somersetshire Regiment of Foot the sum of £827 7s 4d sterling. Being subsistence for the said regiment from 25 April to 24 June 1783, both days included as per the annexed account. From which £310 1s 3d sterling to be detained for 29,766 rations of provisions issued. Also £3 3s sterling due the hospital at New York.
