Full Description:
Major William Anstruther, Royal Garrison Battalion, to General Campbell. Letter from Bermuda regarding orders received from General Sir Guy Carleton on the interference of the Court of Chancery about one of the Jamaica Volunteers named James, who had been referred by a Doctor aboard a privateer and then refused to carry out any orders. The situation was put before the Governor who discharged him from the service and then prevented the Jamaica Detatchment of the Battalion from serving a further duty. This had then been referred to the Commander-in-Chief for further instructions.
