Full Description:
General Sir Guy Carleton to Major-General James Paterson. Letter from New York enclosing the return of refugees who were embarked for St John's River and Cumberland in Nova Scotia, recommended for your attention. Also enclosed was a copy of a letter from the Adjutant-General to Brigadier-General Campbell, or the Officer Commanding at Penobscot. Transport ships were sent to carry the Germans there to the Downs, and the necessary arrangements for this were to be made. This was also for the forwarding of detained dispatches.
