Full Description:
Corporal Philip Roeder and Corporal Kistner. Letter of 'Memorandum' from H R Motz stating that Corporal Roeder, one of thirty-five Hessian Prisoners of War at Mount Hope [Pennsylvannia?], managed to escape to New York, and was examined about a letter dated 20 March from them all, the substance of which had been presented to the Commander-in-Chief on 27 April, and confirmed by his deposition. Also stating that Corporal Kistner declared that a German inhabitant of New Jersey informed him of four soldiers of the Regiment, having been indented to a farmer, had run away from him, were caught, then 'wipped' in a very cruel manner, in an extract from the German, New York.
