Full Description:
General Sir Guy Carleton to Major-General James Paterson. Letter from New York acknowledging receipt of letter No 13, dated 1 June and also states that Brigadier-General Campbell had left Penobscot but had no objection to him going to Europe when he wanted. Asked if the clothing, camp equipment and stores for the German troops in Canada were still in Halifax, and if so, to arrange for them to be sent to Quebec immediately due to their urgent need. With this letter, could also send the German troops in the area back to Europe but hope in doing so, British troops could move in without having to make repairs to barracks. Also hoped to soon send a relief for Brigadier-General Fox.
