Full Description:
Carleton to North. A draft letter from New York regarding the embarkation of troops from there, plus Rear-Admiral Digby had ordered two warships to assist with transportation. Transports bound for Nova Scotia with refugees, to discharge and set sail for posts to pick up foreign troops to be brought back to England. The refugees who had emigrated had been very afraid of retribution from the hostile laws in the States, and the 'failure of their Government to protect them'.
