Full Description:
Richard Fitz Patrick to Carleton. A letter from the War Office stating that the pay of the General and staff officers was to cease from 24 December; a Major-General was to be appointed to command troops in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland but Garrison officers to continue as before; Mr Marshall to be offered continuation as surgeon in Nova Scotia along with three mates, one of which could attend the new detachment being sent to Newfoundland to replace the previous unit; Messrs George Rolland and George Longmore, previously in New York, to be sent to Canada.
