Full Description:
Brigadier-General Samuel Birch to Carleton. A letter from New York agreeing with the apprehension of Cornelius Hatfield and stated having written to Brigadier-General Bruce on Staten Island. Enclosed the answer given. From other enquiries made, was thought that Hatfield had sailed for Nova Scotia but wasn't convinced of him being on any of the three islands, or within the British Lines.
