Full Description:
General Lossberg to Carleton. A letter from New York about German prisoners of war who had either been indented as servants or enlisted in the American Army, probably done so under duress, and now wished to return, but were being held against their will. Asks that with the connections with Congress, these illegal actions be dealt with and those prisoners returned free and without further action from inhabitants. Cited one example concerning 35 men in a location as evidence, and a case for justice to be sought.
