Full Description:
[General Sir Guy Carleton] to Governor William Livingston. A letter from New York acknowledging receipt of a letter with enclosures, but a search made for Cornelius Hetfield had been unsucessful as he had already absconded prior to receipt, presumably for debt. Expectation of measures to deter criminals, showing that 'crime doesn't pay', would be made.
