Full Description:
W Jackson to Brigadier-General Alured Clarke. Letter from the War Office, in the absence of General Lincoln (now on a visit to Virginia), acknowledging receipt of a letter dated the '17th inst', and the order for troops to march to New York was repeated, but their detention was accidental. General Lincoln's letter of 'the 17th' in reply about the Germans [held prisoner] at Mount Hope.
