Full Description:
New York Volunteers. Abstract of 61 days pay due to the commissioned staff officers, non-commissioned officers and private men of the New York Volunteers from 25 April to 24 June 1783. Listed under, number, rank, pay per day, amount per day, number of days and total amount. Totalling £865 2s 3¾d. Signed by Captain and Paymaster William Gray, Lieutenant-Colonel George Turnbull, and Cashier William Shipman. Also shown are the names of the recruits and an account of the broken periods, an allowance to surgeon and paymaster from 25 December 1782 to 24 June 1783, and the names of the within officers.
