H R Motz, Secretary. New York. Memorandum. Discussion with regard to two letters from Lieutenant Gebhard say that the American Commissary of Prisoners will not permit him and his men to march to New York without an order from General Washington, which he begs may be promised for him as he is apprehensive the number of his men, which is no more than 40 now, will dimish still more if he should be detained there much longer.
