Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay the Honourable Andrew Elliot Esquire, Governor of the Province of New York, William Smith Esquire, Chief Justice of the Province of New York, and Frederick Smyth Esquire, Chief Justice of New Jersey, the sum of £300 sterling. Which with the £800 sterling granted to them by former warrants dated 16 February 1781 and 16 January 1782, and includes His Excellency William Franklin Esquire, Governor of the Province of New Jersey, amounts to the sum of £1,100 sterling. Being an allowance of £100 to each of them to support the dignity of their stations as members of the council to their excellencies, the King's Commissioners.
