Full Description:
Provincial Forces. Abstract of the contingent expense of the Inspector-General of Provincial Forces department at New York from 1 April to 30 June 1783 inclusive. Listed under, names and post, days, rate, and amount. Totalling £172 12s 6¾d sterling. Signed by Augustine Prevost, Deputy Inspector-General of Provincial Forces. Postscript notes that no alteration appearing between the present and last abstract in the number of persons employed in the department arrises from a sanction Colonel James received from His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief, their service for the above period being found necessary. Alexander Brodie, Michael Boyle and John Parke are now diminished. Examined and signed by Duncan Drummond, Commissary of Accounts.
