Full Description:
Aeneas MacKay to Carleton. Memorial. Was ensign and adjutant in the 52nd Regiment and in 1777 quitted the army and settled in New York. Had been active in the discipline of the Loyalists in New York under General Robertson and believed his situation would be dangerous if remaining. Is now in England and without money or friends. Is advised to apply for a commission as lieutenant, quartermaster or adjutant, either in the army or in one of the provincial established regiments which would entitle him to half pay.
