Full Description:
Governor John Parr to Carleton. Halifax. Received letters enclosing embarkation returns of refugees destined for this province. As 1,859 persons are to proceed to the St John's River [Nova Scotia] and many others propose settling there too, he thinks it necessary to inform His Excellency that the disbanded Provincial Troops must be provided for elsewhere. If they will commence their settlement about one hundred and forty miles from the river's mouth, there remain fifty miles of country. The bearer Mr Peters will explain how this happens.
