Full Description:
[Carleton] to George Rose. New York. Number 22. Requests him to inform the Lords of the Treasury that the contract with Messrs. Harley and Drummond for the remittance of the money for the military chest having ceased on 17 June, he has resorted to the Deputy-Paymaster-General who is authorised to draw on the Paymaster-General in England in any exigency. He has added that permission and direction required to receive and apply all such monies will be given.
