Captain William Twiss, Chief Engineer, Canada to Mr Schaw, Commissary and Paymaster of Artillery, New York. Extract of letter from Quebec. 'How it has happened I know not, but General Haldimand had this year been remarkably liberal of the B. & F., for without the smallest application he ordered 200 days in February and on the 30 June he ordered the remaining 165. I hope you have the same indulgence at New York'. Certifies the above to be a true extract and containing everything mentioned in the letter upon the above subject. Signed by Schaw.
