Full Description:
Dr Hugh Alexander Kennedy to Carleton. Three Rivers. He wrote last September expressing his warmest desire of quitting a situation in which he had been treated with the most uncommon degree of asperity. The day after the last ship sailed for England, General Haldimand informed him his appointment as Inspector was to cease on 25 December 1782. This did not surprise him and he found himself in the midst of great expenses and with a very large family. Is still happy in the hope of being restored on account of Carleton's recommendation and knows there was no reason for his removal but for economy. His boys are still unprovided for, though with the strongest military inclinations.
