Full Description:
Major Jackson, Assistant Secretary-at-War to Brigadier-General Clarke. War Office. In the absence of General Lincoln, has the honour to request that Clarke obtains an order from Carleton for refunding the money advanced by the quartermaster to procure transportation for the troops and baggage in consequence of the engagements founded on instructions from Carleton. The assistant-quartermaster informs that Clarke presented an account before he left Philidelphia, and that the contractor's accounts for provisions suppliedto the troops after their release will claim his attention at the same time. Jackson is persuaded that there will be no difficulty or delay in the settlement.
