Full Description:
Carleton to Brigadier-General H E Fox. New York. Major-General Paterson has received permission to go to England for the recovery of his health and Brigadier-General Campbell on his private business. Thinks it proper to appoint Fox to the command of the troops in the district of Nova Scotia and so he is to proceed to Halifax at the first opportunity. Herewith are instructions for conduct in that command, and directions which have been given to Alexander Thompson, Deputy-Paymaster-General at Halifax to receive and pay warrants for the subsistence and extraordinary expence of the troops.
