Full Description:
Brook Watson to Major Mackenzie. Commissary General's Office, New York. That he inform Carleton of the sailing of a fleet of victuallers from New York to St Augustine in April, having on board provisions to complete the victualling of refugees and the garrison up to 1 October next but the 'Eliza' with specified quantities of flour, pork, beef, oatmeal, pease and rice was wrecked on the coast of Carolina and her cargo totally lost. Must therefore replace the provisions lost. Submits for consideration the propriety of adding what may be necessary to victual the garrison up to 31 December next or such other period as Carleton may deem expedient.
