Full Description:
[Carleton] to Governor John Parr. New York. Has directed that a number of orphans remaining in the poor house of 'this city', children mostly of soldiers, be sent to Halifax and bound as apprentices to the Reverend Mr Breynton; has directed that they be clothed completely and victualled as refugees if necessary. The thirteen boys and one girl are under the care of a woman who has been with them some time and has an inventory of all their belongings. Is assured that he (Parr) will give the necessay directions for the children to be taken care of until they can be bound out to such families as may be desirous of taking them.
