Thomas Hassard to [Carleton]. New York. Informing him that he went to Marthis (sic) [Martha's] Vineyards by sea with Admiral Digby's permission in order to settle debts and get his property so as to go to Nova Scotia; his treatment following his seizure at Rhode Island on his way back. Asks that, if the friends of govenment are to be so treated and no notice taken of it, how he should conduct himself for the future. Accompanied by a warrant for his forcible removal to New York and confiscation of his schooner now lying in the county of Washington. Issued by Governor William Green to Richard Fry Sheriff of Kent County.
