Benjamin Moore to Carleton. New York. That when the army was at Boston the Reverend Mr Jones was Chaplain to the General Hospital; that Jones obtained leave to go to England on condition he found a deputy. After the army came to New York Moore was applied to, and appointed Deputy Chaplain to the General Hospital, by Sir William Howe; that he made a private agreement with Doctor Grant, Jones's agent, to do the chaplain's duty in the Hospital for £50 a year which has been regularly paid to 24 March last, but both Jones and Grant being in England no order has been left for future payment of the allowance; is at a loss as to how to recover the money.
