Full Description:
Nathaniel Moore of Long Island, farmer, to Carleton. (no date). Memorial. In 1776 lived on Staten Island; that he provided Captain Elves (sic) of the 22nd Regiment and his servant with lodging and entertainment for which he has charged him as set out in the account herewith [not enclosed]; that despite frequent requests for payment Elves [Elwes] has not paid. Asks that Elwes be directed to pay or show sufficient reason why he ought not to do so.
