Full Description:
John P Smith to Carleton. Complaint. (No date). That of his government allowance he has received only part up to 1 April last, there being £15 4s due; that he has been unable to receive any at all, in consequence he sent a memorial to Carleton; that he has since found that a receipt was fraudulently signed which he thinks is the cause of the allowance not being paid; is in great distress for want of money and clothing and requests that Carleton orders strict justice to be rendered him.
