Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Thomas Aston Coffin £343 14s ²/³d sterling equal to £589 4s and 1 and one-seventh part of a penny New York currency, to enable him to pay the wages of the officers and crews of the armed schooner 'Greyhound',the brigantine 'Maria', and the sloops 'Elk' and 'Three Sisters', the property of the govenment, employed by the Commissary-General's Department between 25 April and 24 June 1783 as per three accounts, 1, 2 and 3 and the memorial of Captain John Hamilton, agent for Small Craft, hereto annexed [not now annexed].
