Full Description:
Governor Archibald Campbell, Jamaica to Carleton. Confirm's receipt of his letter of the '26th' in which he was ordered to despatch various troops arrived from Charleston to New York. A detachment of the 84th, being the least in number, is currently en route to New York but unfortunately His Excellency's letter arrived too late to embark the bulk of the troops on vessels returning empty. He has therefore advertised for vessels willing to carry the troops to New York and is confident that they will be there soon. He forwards a return of the three regiments [63rd, 64th, and 71st Foot]. He is aware that their destination may change to England at short notice.
