Full Description:
[Carleton], New York to Lieutenant-General Lossberg acknowledging receipt of his letter of 4th. Asks that Langrave of Hesse be informed that although the treaty signing is imminent, that they are in a country of a recent enemy who is not yet a friend and therefore he thinks it prudent to retain the strongest and best regiments until the last moment.
