Reverend Jonathan Odell to Carleton. He has not received any allowance for bat and forage since 1779 when he went to Pensacola with the Pennsylvania Loyalists as chaplain; has recently been appointed assistant chaplain to the 22nd Regiment in which he supposes £10 may be allowed him but it has been suggested that he might be included in the staff returns as assistant secretary if Carleton so permits; does not presume to ask it but that if granted the 22nd Regiment be notified not to include him in their returns.
