John Ferguson or Fergusson of New Providence island, merchant. New York. Case for the consideration of Carleton. Details events from the capitulation of the Bahamas on 8 May 1782 to the arrival of Major Deveaux and the Loyalists under his command and particularly his treatment and substantial financial losses at the hands of Don Antonio Claraco y Sanz, the Spanish governor of the Bahamas. Asks that by such means as he sees fit, Carleton will enable him to recover his money and debts and also the damages he has sustained over and above his financial losses.
